You didn't provide much information on what you tried. I am guessing you tried the release handle under the dash. When you pulled on the release did you feel any resistance? Did you hear the hood latch release? You can try the following:

1. Check if the cable seperated from the release under the dash. If this is the case you should feel no resistance when pulling the handle. Might be able to get a pair of pliers on the cab to pull and release.

2. Have someone hold the release open and while they are holding it see if you can get the hood to open by trying to lift it. In this case you should feel resistance when pulling the handle. On my old Fords the springs would break and when I pulled the release the hood wouldn't pop up.

If neither of those work you will have to see if you can access the release cable for under the car or if you can get to the latch through the grill somehow.
