Default 2005 2.0T engine issues *** VIDEO***

Bought wife a 2005 A4 2.0T, she loves her 05 S4 but it was getting to be high on gas.

This one has about 180k so far ive replaced the high pressure fuel pump, cam follower, spark plugs, pcv, and the check valve hose.

It looked like someone had replaced the cam shaft all the gaskets looked really new and the cam shaft did too I checked where the follower rides and it looked good.

The follower was excessively worn due to the hpfp not being replaced at that time I think. The bottom that goes inside the follower was badly damaged and the follow could not sit straight. She drove it like this for a while to and back from work. Theres obviously something wrong. Its thrown a bunch of codes off the top of my head p0301 p0000 p0003 p0171 p0703 c0700 any help at all appreciated.

I don't have a lot of experience with the follower issue. I do seem to recall if that goes it can cause damage to the valves. My guess is you have some bent/damaged valves.

I don't think so because it runs great up until 3-4k rpm. Thinking maybe the diverter valve I don't know though not much experience with Audi's.

Also sometimes it idles really nice. Almost Like a vacuum leak but i cant find it anywhere. I my Check valve breather hose was all screwed up and I fixed with hose so i figured that would get my vacuum good

That makes sense, when the PCV valve was leaking my car acted terrible, shaking at idle, hunting RPMs like a vacuum leak but still drove okay mostly.
I had the delete kit to hand so no biggy. Will need to get a catch can with a vent to stop this oil into the intake nonsense.

Good job my man, I'll need to try that with mine.
Was that just carb cleaner or something?

I actually changed my pvc too chasing this issue. Yep just regular I'm carb spray. Any time you have an intake leak spray around the intake and it'll suck it in and tell you where
