2005.5 A4 2.0 T Quattro Questions - help appreciated
First - thanks for looking and hopefully answering or directing me in right direction...
1) I just purchased .. has 133K miles - Anyone know of reputable extended warranty for higher miles?
2) Does anyone have 'fix' since epoxy already did not work for glovebox hinges? There are signs previous owner tried the epoxy thing.
3) PDF Owner's manual?
4) This has the key/fob all in one -- only came with one and want to get another ... what is best avenue to take?
Again - thanks for help and input ... last time I owned an Audi ... it was a fantastic 5000 series ... bought it w/ 78K miles and had to get rid of when transaxle was too expensive to fix -- did get 34mpg hwy with it .. which is good for the high speeds I drove!
AND any other advise ... I love this engine and the feel of it ... had a '03 Volvo S60 and this is such a better vehicle!
Steve

Welcome, Steve. The only true fix I know of for the glove box door is to replace the entire door plus the shock absorber for it (which is what went bad causing the door to break). I don't know what the parts go for--I ended up having the dealership do mine and I think it was close to $400. This was about 3 years ago because mine was broken and glued when I bought it as well.
As for the rest, I don't really know. Sit tight and give it a few days. This is a fairly slow forum, but eventually someone will come along. You can also try search with a few key words up in the blue bar mid-top of the page.

Search on cam follower (fuel pump runs of cam), you may want to check yours. If they wear through you will have a $$$ repair bill.
If the timing belt was not replaced at 75K miles, get that done.
Replacement parts for the glove box lid are near $200. Many just live with it being broken.
I think you can download a manual from AUdi.

Thanks - will have to find schematic for the glovebox area to see what is needed. I do not see any place for shock absorber - I KNOW where it was on my Volvo since had to replace that in the midst of replacing the resistor and blower motor.

Wish I knew if the Timing Belt was changed - THAT is one of the reasons that I am also looking at extended mileage warranties -- what is the best one for the dollar(s) is my other concern.... It is reasonable to think the timing belt would have been changed BUT one cannot assume.

Forget the warranty. On these cars and at that mileage, it will be too expensive. I would just have the timing belt and water pump serviced. Even if you're duplicating work done a few thousand miles ago, better safe than sorry if you want to keep the car. You can get it done for under $1k at an independent shop or around $1200 from Audi. That's going to be way cheaper than any extended warranty you'll likely find.

KingWulfgar - I guess my concern is the Quattro for the extended warranty for one thing. If that goes out I am in a world of hurt! The lowest $ I have found for 24/24K warranty is $1,900.
Thanks for the input.

To be honest, in the almost 4 years I've been around here, I haven't seen a whole lot of quattro problems in the forums. Lots of other stuff, but very little (if any) quattro-related issues. Seems to be a pretty solid part of these cars.
