Oil change, 2500Km later min light comes on ?!?!?
Hi guys, has anyone experienced this before ? I've read a few scary stories about the 07-08 2.0T engines burning/consuming oil like crazy.
I have a 2007 2.0T CVT FWD and this problem starting happening this summer.
The PCV valve cracked, and the engine was making this very loud whistling sound and was shivering. Brought it to dealer, the changed the valve. And it was cool. Then it cracked again ! same loud sound and shivering. Brought it to dealer and they fixed it and did an oil change. Then about 2000Km later, min oil light came on. They said it was normal and topped it off with more oil.
Then again, the min light came on after about 2000Km. This time they suggested to do a full oil change and monitor to see when the min light comes on. Well it came on 2500Km later. I just can't believe that you pay over 35K for a car and you are bothered by little things like that. It just kills your mood.
Don't get me wrong, i love audi and i love my car. I just want to know what the heck is happening. Any suggestion is appreciated.

Bad valve seals? Come on now. The PCV system is all messed up, you need an upgrade.

Its just spitting oil into the intake and probably out the oil cap. Go ahead and take off the intake line to the throttle body and see how much oil is in there, i bet a 1/4 quart is chillin in there. I changed an intercooler on an A3 with a bad PCV one time and got my entire shirt covered in oil, i was pissed.

i cant see oil anywhere around the engine or cap..only thing i see is black exhaust pipes? what does this mean with the pvc upgrade "Revamp kit takes care of the commonly occurring PCV issues in tuned 2.0T applications". is my stock b7 a tuned application?

esandes: All my oil changes were done at dealer, checked the bills and they use Castrol Syntec 5w40 all the time.
auditech79: I did find that page before when i was researching the problem. The thing is, i need to find someone who knows how to install it. Is it something a regular mechanic can do, or do i need to bring it to like a performance shop or something more specialized.
I don't mind spending the money as long as it fixes my problem.
