After flooding checks??
Hey, my car stalled out in water this past weekend during the floods in chicago. When it stalled out my friends and i jumped out and pushed it out the rest of the way... wasnt in water long at all. But water did get inside on the driver side front and back pretty bad and a little on the passanger side. Itt wouldnt fully turn over well until i put it on a flatbed and water came pouring out of the exhaust. It ran rough for 2 days and the malfunction indicater light was on. The only symptom of the car was that when i jumped on the gas at about 4k rpms it would have trouble and would sputter a bit. However, now the malfunction light when off on its own and everything is running smooth right now. Is there anything that anyone can recommend that i do as a precaution? checks? change fluids?... (airfilter was dry by the way) Thanks alot!
you are.....incredibly lucky....if any water got into your air filter your car would be more useless then a wing on a fwd car
things u should or consider doing
1. flush all your fluids
2. but something in your car that absorbs moisture to prevent mould on the interior
3. possible seafoam your car to clean all the internals out
other then that if its running good then i think you'll be alright
good luck

I had a 2000 Passat about 5 years ago, that got water in up to the bottom of the doors when I drove through a 10 inch deep pool of water, caused by a backed-up storm drain...Due to the fact that there was a computer control module under the front passenger seat, the car would not start, and my insurance company totaled the car-My understanding was that the cost of replacing the computer, and possible electrical problems down the road, was why the insurance company choose to just pay me to replace the car..
I don't know if the B7 has any computer boxes under the seats, but if you were lucky, only the carpets got wet...Replacing the carpets would be a good idea, it's really hard to get rid of the musty smell and prevent mold otherwise..
