i tried lookin in the electronics forum but couldnt find much info.
i just wanna make sure i dont hit any major snags. im gonna order the sub and amp (and maybe wiring kit) from crutchfield and have Best Buy do the install. im keeping my stock symphony headunit but will the new amp hook up to the headunit, hook up to the factory amp, or replace the factory amp?
any recommendations as to how i should have them wire it? what about keeping the power wire away from the speaker wire? any special tricks for audis?

Yes you can keep your existing head unit and use an aftermarket amp to power the subwoofer. The speaker wires from the back of the head unit will be used as the signal to the amplifier. You will also need the amp wiring kit when installing this.
