I have a 2007 B7 automatic with an intermittent problem where the auto trans will not upshift from first to second gear. Usually happens when taking off after sitting at a light. Essentially the car is hung up in first gear. I usually either coast to a stop or slide it into tiptronic and shift up manually. Anyone else hear of this problem or know what might cause it? The dealer will not do anything unless they can reproduce.

 

Sorry mate, have no useful input. But a pretty scary problem to have I
would think. Should be covered by warranty I'd expect, if only it could
be proved before the powers that be.

Yeah, I know about the dealers success rate at "trying to reproduce problems",
even for simple ones. Have an issue where I hear a click from the steering
wheel if I make a sharp turn(mostly starting from stationary). Even after
several services, the dealer says he can't reproduce it, very funny.

Hope it works out well for you soon, as it can only get worse when
out of warrany.
