Default B7 Engine Replacement

Hello, I have a 2007 A4 Avant, this is an automatic transmition I love the car, but want to make some major adjustments to the engine. What is the largest engine this car can safely hold. How easy is it to change engines from Automatic to Standard.
Thanks

Sell it and buy an S4. I do not see you changing engines in that car at any cost much less getting it to run.

seems like you bought the wrong car! changing from auto to manual is a process and half, not only is it rediculously costly but the tranny switch is often going to run some serious problems in the long run, especially getting the pedals right

my suggestion to you is create a solenoid switch box and make your car a paddle shift based off the tip tronic

also if you have a 2.0 turbo KMD tuning creates a bolt-on large turbo thats good for about 450 hp obviously you are going to have purchase other things but i think its going to be alot cheaper then dropping a whole new block in the engine

Thanks for your input, much appreciated, how do I "create a solenoid switch box and make your car a paddle shift based off the tip tronic " I am very interested in how this works, also what is the estimated cost for this. Also what is the estimated cost for the KMD bolt-on large turbo.

P.S. didnt buy the wrong car ... love the wagon and its space but getting into mods and have some expendable cash

i only meant wrong car via tranny haha

umm actually what i have heard people doing is buying the steering wheel with the paddle shifts and then its only a matter of VAG-COM reprogramming to reconize the paddle shifters then ur good

they have 3 kits to choose from

300 hp - 3 + grand
400 hp - 4 grand
450 hp - 4500

in additon to that your gonna need an fmic 800, larger fual pump 400, injectors 400, full turbo back exhaust if u don;t alreaydhave it 1000-2000 depending on if u wanna go no cat or high flo cat

all in all its prolly a 7 or 8 thousand dollar mod with all the work done
