First time Audi owner here. I've had a few BMW's and Porsches but never an Audi yet. The S4 has been in the back of my mind over the past year and I decided to pick up a pre-owned A3 to bridge my patience until I become more serious about high performance 4-door. Currently many large home projects are taking priority.

One of my must-have criteria was a manual transmission and after not finding an A3 (thought I wanted a hatchback) under $20k without some questions marks I opened up my search - and to make a long story short a 2005.5 (and local!) manual FWD A4 sort of fell in my lap. It has 45k miles and the local Audi Dealer inspected it for me and it was one of the cleanest cars they've seen. It's not AWD and pretty bare on options but really, really clean - it could pass for a car with only 10k miles.

I have to admit I enjoy this car much more than I expected and am thinking maybe I'll keep this for quite a while. I've only had it for less than a week and it's exceeded my expectations. And I love the manual transmission, one of the smoothest I've ever driven.

The smoothness of the transmission was one of the huge selling points in getting me into my Audi.

I've driven a bunch of manual Chevy's, Honda's, Toyota's and the like, but I fell in love with the feel of an Audi before I even left the parking lot to take one on a test drive.

I love these cars.
