Brake Pad Wear Sensor

Hi all, couple questions...

Do all audi's have the brake pad wear sensor?

Can I replace with non-sensor brake pads and not get annoyed with warning alarms?

What would you recommend for a spirited driver not doing any track or racing driving?

Thanks

As I assume you are aware the sensors trigger when the pads are at minimum thickness. This is a warning that will give you time to replace the pads without destroying the rotors or better yet loose your breaks. These are dummy lights for those that don't check their pads periodically. I don't believe ALL Audi's have them but the pads are not interchangeable. If you do find a non-sensor pad then I'll bet the idiot light will be on all of the time. So if you want better pads go to EBC or Akebono . They should suit your driving style.

I've read a few times that the brake pad sensors are located only on the front pads. Can anyone confirm or deny?

Thanks.

Only the front has the sensors. Others have said that from their experience that the warning won't go off if you don't replace the pads with ones that have the sensors. I just replaced mine, and used the Audi pads and rotors.

In your A4 the pad sensors are on front only. You can used cheap pads if you like and jump the harness to keep the light off. But your just being cheap, and devaluing and removing a nice feature for the car.
