Hi Guys!

I'm new to the B7 family and have been reading up on common issues of the 2.0 FSI and decided to tackle the cam follower. I bought my 07 Avant sight-unseen, (after 2 years of searching and reading some of the great stickies on here) but I still don't know much about the mechanically history. With 82k miles, I don't want to take any chances.

ECS seems to be the go-to-guys for Audi OEM and aftermarket parts, so is there any real difference between their OEM and ECS Assembled cam follower kits? https://www.screencast.com/t/jPV73x8UI

Who else do you guys shop with?

 

I just did the job and used the ecs kit, which was around $68 if my memory is correct. The ECS kit, which included new bolts and fuel pump gasket seemed very good-looked identical other than the rubber gasket (different color). I can't believe there are that many manufacturers of the cam follower IMO.

 

Yeah the OEM was around $68 and ECS's was $34 on sale. I figure if it's that similar and needs replacing every so often, thought it made sense to give the ECS a shot. Will be installing soon!
