Default Chip

Okay so I am thinking about getting either a REVO chip or an APR chip but I have heard it is smart to upgrade the dv. So what i was wondering was how necessary is it to do this? Also if i were wanting to run stage 2 after I got one of those chips, would it be possible to do so with just an intake and a downpipe? or would i need to upgrade the cat or the test pipe or both?

What year is your car? Newer cars have better DVs. I've been chipped for almost 20k with the stock DV.

Read my sticky up top. Seems like I have to answer this alot. You will need a DV eventually as with a chip it will probably fail. It could fail gradually and if you don't have a Boost gauge you may not even notice it. The newer piston driven DV does not fail like the ones with a diaphram.

All stage 2 does is delete the cat code that kicked out with a test pipe or HFC.

Stage 2 deletes the code and has different mapping to take advantage of the new exhaust flow. Call the company if you like but it is a diifernt map for sure. I ran with a stage 1 car and downpipe for a few days and then went stage 2. I could even tell the difference although most was my downpipe.

Stage 2 is a minimum on these cars. Once you have it you kick yourself for going so long without it.
