Are you a troll? are yall at the audi forum mod knows about this ? Educate me, how are you going to put a chip into a car to make it run more efficient? Do you mean a piggy back ?

Buddy, where are you at ? find you a cobb tuning place. Find you a tuner, and ask how you can help you with your hp, e85 .... anything is possible.

Seriously, is this guy being for real ?

Well.. the thinking behind it is to increase BHP, torque and fuel economy. But as with all things you get what you pay for... if you buy a rubbish diesel tuning chip it will just cause chaos for your engine. If you spend the money on a decent one which is mapped properly and doesnt just confuse the ECU etc it generally works. Ive never had a problem with mine as I didnt get it off ebay!! Just an alternative to having your engine remapped by a tuner to increase the power and efficiency.

Pros and cons as always with things like this and people like/dislike chips but as said ive never had issues with chipping my cars.

so these chips are a tune, oh okay. Yeah just get it pro tune. Its better then any mass produce program chip can do to a car m8.

Also, im from america, this "chip" is not the ECM or ECU we are talking about here right? It is just an add on to program into the ECU?

correct, just an add on to adjust certain settings of the ECU.

APR and GIAC are two of the better-known names. For $500-$700 they'll plug a computer into your car's computer and tune it. That's generally referred to as "Stage 1" and you'll see anywhere from 30-50hp gains and some more torque.

From that point, you're talking exhaust, bigger turbo and cold air intake if you want even more power. And of course, you're talking quite a bit more $$$.

The stage 1 tunes are by far the best bang for the buck.

I'm new to the forums.. I can go with out the disrespect. Just asking a simple question on which tune works good for basically a stock car. Looking to get a lil more out of it with out breaking the bank. Thanks for those who put good advise. Still want to learn more about these tho I race diesel trucks so I'm assuming the tunes are similar.. But need to know which brand to go with.

Its more of a personal prefrence when it comes to chipping cars, there many companys out there like APR, Unitronic, ect. Its really just a personal preference and you should always do your research before you make any choices, every place you research is going to have negative and positive reviews. I prefer unitronic Performance Software - 2006-2008 Audi A4 B7 2.0TFSI 200HP since your car is newer all they do is hook up their cable to your obdII port and install the program into your ecu and that's its. Also from what i heard about unitornic is lets say you buy the stage 1 chip, and a few months later you want to upgrade to the stage 1+ or stage 2, instead of paying another 500-700$ your just pay the differences between stage 1 and stage 1+ so you only end up paying 50-100$ to upgrade the stages. I am going to get the unitronic stage 1 when i fix up my car fully.
