good comments to "just follow the speedo". I agree but what my perception would be with an audi is that they would of had a bit more accuracy and found out perception isnt reality! ...now am going to check out my neon and suburban to see if they are accurate

That would be an interesting comparison. Let us know the results!

Exactly! Just tell the officer that his radar gun is probably calibrated high, also.

I checked my girlfriend's car ( Acura 1.7EL 2004 ) and her speedometer is exactly what I read on the GPS...... With mine (A4 2.0T quattro 2008 ) I read 110km/h when the GPS tell me 101 km/h.....
Like someone said before....I wondering if my millage is accurate.... I'm doing almost 35000 km per year. So if this is innacurate I will burn my warranty faster than normal......

I wouldn't guarantee that the GPS is any more accurate. If your unit has it, check the accuracy. A lot of time it is still off by 5 or more metres even with a number of satellites in view. That can translate into a big difference in speed.

I drive a lot of long distance (highway) of the time. I have a Tomtom one gps with me which is constantly on. Cruising at 125Km and my gps is anywhere between 117-121 Km/hr. Roughly at the same. I do about 30000Km per year, so I too would be concerned if it affected my odometer in anyway. I never thought about it before.

no speedometer is accurate that is why cops dont pull you over if your doing like 5 over, because its so debatable, but remeber it can go both ways, your speedo can say 65 and you could be doing 72 so if you push it youve been had for 82 or whatever. ive been in alot lot of cruisers and played with the radar units, some are calibrated with a tuning fork and can be off by a ±3-4% couple this with your innacurate speedo and and a cop magnet of a car and your looking at some seriouse tickets. play it safe!! cops count on you not fighting tickets, something that can be worth it, especially if you are within manufacturers ±%ages, account for both the radar and your cars speedo and you could have a viable arguement????

If you use VAG-COM and get the speed on your radio to show up, it matches EXACTLY with what you get on the GPS - but my speedo is off to 5-10km/hr as well.

Audi Speedometers are just trying to save you from the oh S**T moment if you have a radar detector and you get nailed with instant on.
