Default Dash Rattle

Just curious if other people have had problems with the dash rattling. I have a rattle or buzz somewhere around the defroster vent. Sometimes just a light pressure from your finger can make it stop. It can come and go. Road surface can have an effect on the rattle/buzz, as well as engine rpm. Unfortunately the rpm that the rattle most occures, is in the normal operating range of 2000 to 2600 rpm or so. That is the rpm where the car usually cruises. It is also much worse in the warmer months than in the colder months. It's been getting worse, and is annoying enough that I am considering spending the money to have it fixed.

I have same noise if its a buzzing vibration coming from somewhere in the front driver corner where dash meets windshield or possibly defrost vent. I would love to know what this noise is because it is also driving me crazy!

Mine is getting to the point where turning up the radio to drown it out is not working. I want to keep my eardrums. My buzz/rattle is from around the center defroster vent. It has done it since I bought the car, but has gotten worse. Early on it changed slightly after the dash was removed to fix a noisy vent motor, but it has only gotten worse. Occasionally jiggling the vent a little can make it stop temporarly. Sometimes it takes smacking the dash with my hand to make it stop.

I have the same problem. Its driving me crazy. These cars are no POS's so im kind or perplexed that they would let something like this happen. I am taking my car to a dealership in a week so hopefully i will keep my cool long enough to make it there.

I have see where people have refered to these cars as rattle boxes. I thought they were being a little extream, but I'm not so sure now.

Brought the car to the dealer. After hours of work and trial and error the techs figured out the rattle was a loose lining underneath the passenger side fender. They repaired the thing and the noise dissapeard. thank you lord.
