Default ECU Upgrade

@harryd14 - I had to delete that previous post and repost under a new account - my forum nickname was my email address and I could not change it.

My Original Post:
I just last week had the Stasis ECU upgrade installed in mine... I'm completely impressed with the difference. Car has solid pull throughout the rpm range now and the difference down in the lower band is tremendous! Before, I would have to get on it pretty hard and wait to get the revs up before expecting any real power but now it pulls hard from the start. Feels like you would expect that engine to.

I've never been in an A4 with any other brand ECU upgrades so I can't speak for comparison - but this chip is super smooth, doesn't feel harsh or like you're over-revving things - when you want to drive gently it complies.

Best part is it was installed at an Audi/Stasis dealer (Bell Audi in Edison NJ) and it in no way voids any warranty and everything is covered.

Downside is the price. About 3x the cost of the aftermarket brands... but I don't have any worries about bringing it into the shop and having an issue because my car is "chipped"...
I'm not sure about the other brands but this is a graph for the Stasis ECU:

The upgrade installed cost $1700.00 including tax. Be aware that individual Audi dealers can set the price as they like.

Not the cheapest upgrade by far but for the peace of mind and performance I have no regrets.

Exclamation From the Stasis website

From the STaSIS website regarding the ECU...

Power
Stock configuration of the 2.0T power plant is rated at 200hp/207lbft. Signature Series software pushes out put to 238hp/262lbft
(245hp in A4 trim) when paired with STaSIS exhaust components. The numbers speak for themselves, but the exhilaration provided by improved low end power will turn your daily driver into a race-bred sleeper.

Throttle Response
Improved low end torque translates into better throttle response for all types of driving. Whether carving canyons or changing lanes, better throttle feedback improves your feel for the road.

Reliability
Through development with technical partner Mahle Powertrain, STaSIS Engineering's Signature Series software is capable of maintaining OE reliability and durability. As the first Audi aftermarket supplier to provide 4-year/50,000 mile warranty coverage STaSIS has tapped into the research and development carried out by Mahle. Understanding the performance parameters and limitations of the 2.0T allows our software to create excitement without compromise.

I'm completely happy with the STaSIS ECU upgrade. That said, though the dealers may tell you otherwise, my fuel efficiency went down about 15%. I would generally get about 350 miles on a tank and after the chipping I get just over 300. Just an FYI.

Heh. Are you driving more aggressively because it's more fun to drive now?

I just got the APR upgrade yesterday with 14800 miles on my '08 a4 6-spd. Holy cow. 2nd gear just got a whole lot more fun. Quick and easy upgrade, and easy to switch back to the stock program for service. Highly recommended.
