Help!
Hi guys,
I've had my 2006 Audi A4 3.2L for about two years now. Ever since I've owned it, it's had this problem where it stalls. When I'm waiting at a red light, or stopping at a stop sign.. when I start going the car feels as though it is stalling, and it "clunks" and jerks its way forward until it starts moving. There is definite lag when pushing the gas from a stop.
Also, the car has died on me 4 times. Three times on a downhill when I'm stopped or coming to a stop and once yesterday while I was just waiting in a drive through. The power steering dies, the car turns off, warning lights come on. Once I turn the car off and on again it is fine, and it normally starts right up.
I've taken it to the dealership well over 20 times. They have done various things all under warranty... They even replaced my transmission! Still.. nothing. I was wondering if anyone had any idea of what the problem is as I'm going to the dealership this Wednesday. They haven't been able to fix it yet, and I was wondering if it's too late to claim some sort of "lemon law" where they would buy the car back from me. It was certified pre owned at the time of purchase.
I feel like I've been really patient with them, but I'm frustrated because they can't fix the problem!
Thanks for all your help.
Katie

well i cant imagine they can just duplicate it always right? Sounds like they are trying to fix it if they changed ur tranny, i mean thats nothing easy so I guess i couldnt be that mad if they are really trying to fix it. But if i had to take a stab at it, i'd probly say it was the tcu, but wtf do i know
umm check ur local state laws i know that in CT if you buy a car and the dealership tries to fix the same problem over 3 times and nothing works the car is considered a lemon and they have the oppurtunity to offer you the same make/model/year/trim car for an exchange or refund your money as long as you are under warranty.....
this is the absolute last ditch effort for dealerships because they lose so much money in the process and what not but you are entitled to it...my family used to have a dodge that had a squeaking transmission problem and grinded the gears going from a complete stop up to like 5-10 mph and our truck was lemon lawed as a result
your dealership is trying everything they can to not lemon law your car....which is not a bad thing but rightfully so in your defense can be quite frustrating, sounds like they are taking proper action tho as maki said above replacing a transmission is not an easy band aid type of fix
if i was you i would put up with the fixes maybe once or twice more then take to your audi matinence guy and sit down and discuss the possibility of a lemon and calmly (you get more with honey then with vinegar) exaplin that the dealership has tried many types of fixes and that you should talk lemon law, see where that gets you and if all else fails just be like okay then i will be contacting the better business bearue (spelling) and we will handle it from there
