I'm wondering how the HIDs are swapped? I don't know if I should put them in myself. You see, my friend gave me his HIDs because he had an A4 that he wrecked. He was hit by an aggressive driver but the headlights are allright, and so are other pieces of the car. I want to just put them in without paying the dealer$hip any money for doing it themselves. I figure my garage or driveway will be the best place to do that at? But i'm worried about getting electrocuted or something. It looks like I have to remove the body piece to get to the lights myself too. That's why I need to know about information relating to me swapping the lights. I won't need a jack for this sweet! I will just swap the head lights. But post some tips or infromation so I can perform the action if you know how. Thanks!

If i can pop out the lights and place in a new brighter light, who is the best one to go to and what is an estimated cost? thanks! the yellow light at my tender age of 48 at night just doesnt cut it! i need more light! :-)

Well my HID's are in!! They look sweet. Unfortuanltly after putting everything back together my corner blinker bulb is out. So Now Ill have to remove the bumper AGAIN to put a new bulb in. I really hate the fact that you need to take the bumper off to switch bulbs. I will post pictures when I get a chance too.

As to your friends HIDs are the stock headlights your trying to swap? If not just installing and HID kit is not too hard. But I believe the HID headlights don't fit if you have the halogen ones.

congrats on ur new hid's. Thanks for all the replies, I thought about it and while the ideal situation would be to get the projector headlights, its seems like that kinds of upgrade requires alot of funds and work, so I'll probably just have to do a conversion =[ and hopefully the dealership will take the car back, or I'll just put the old ones before returning it.

Phosphate P, if your not getting xenon lights, but just don't want yellow lights, I would recommend sylvania light bulbs. I replaced original lights on my last two cars with those and never had any issues over the years. You can check it out over here

How do you install them, do you have to take off the bumper? I cant seem to fit my hand on on the driver side headlight to take out the bulb. Did you guys take out the headlights to install them?

Thanks,

Jesse

Yes you need to take the front bumper off to install the lights or change bulbs, ill see if I can find the write up I have on it. I do remember though you need T30 and T20 10mm and flat head screw driver.
