Default Hood open/closed sensor question

So recently I've been having A/C issues, and while replacing the A/C Fans and FCM I noticed the wire going to the hood latch was really beat up, almost de-attached. I never had the issue of my dash saying my hood was open when its not, but now
I am, after moving it around a bit I suppose. subsequently my A/C still doesn't work after replacing the entire fan housing, fan control module, climate control module, checking all the fuses, and checking the pressure. Now my A/C fan still doesn't engage, resulting in no A/C. Not sure if my compressor is even engaging.

Can the system thinking the hood is open cause the A/C to not work/engage? Does it have to be a closed system? If anyone knows something about this please inform me. Or even if you think my A/C issue could be something else.

Thanks!

My alarm went off randomly a couple times yesterday. When I got in to drive I realized it was because it thought the hood was open. I opened and closed the hood and my "door open" light went off but then my alarm went off again twice last night. I'm stuck leaving my car unlocked now. Anyone else have issues with that switch on the hood latch? I'll try cleaning it today. 192.168.100.1 192.168.1.1 Wiring looks all good. Worst case I don't mind hard wiring the switch. Or temporarily I can bridge the connector while I get a new switch so I can at least lock my car. Anyone ever have to replace one ?
