Default How to remove headlight switch left side dash 08 A4

Audi All,

I am in the process of replacing the aluminum interior trim with S4 wood trim in my 08 A4. I have all but the 2 dash pieces replaced. I can't seem to get the headlight switch located left side dash to come off/out. Someone showed me how to do it by phishing in and rotating Clockwise and the switch comes out. BUT now that I am trying it, it seems that it either takes quite a bit of turning force or I am not doing something right.

Still have the long piece with the "Quattro" badge on oit also to replace, and while this seems rather straight forward any advice would be appreciated.

Finally I have completed the Navigation plus replacement and now adding a Mobridge Bluetooth module.

Looking forward to having all the modifications completed.

Any help/advice appreciated!

tdsoup

08 A4 Quartz gray/trey leather, 6 speed manual, now with navigation.

Here's the DIY: http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...t-with-Fog-Mod

I've seen elsewhere where people said just wrap tinfoil around the #1 and #2 connectors so you don't have to actually cut any wires, so if you search around you can probably find the DIY for that, too.

Yea, I don't keep up with all the little tweaks that the modders play around with.

Hey there, I just changed these pieces myself. How to change the wood/alum around your headlight switch: Open your driver door, pull off fuse cover, then look toward the right side (toward the front) and you need to look for an 8mm screw that holds the lower dash up. By that, I mean the big part that is under your steering wheel and snugs up to the aluminum or wood. If you get the right one out, then you can pull that bottom piece down enough to expose another 8mm bolt that holds that entire assembly in place. You should be able to pull the whole thing out after unbolting that 2nd 8mm screw. On the 'quattro' badged dash piece, you have to take out this piece and I'm just going to show you some pics on how because I cannot explain this very well.

Did you keep them the same, or change to something else?
