Ignition coil and spark plug fault -help
I have a B7 2.0T that had the ignition coils replaced under 'campaign' in 2009. I had the spark plugs replaced in 2010. Now I've got a CEL fault for cylinder 1 and my mechanic wants to replace that coil and plug.
I called the dealer and they couldn't look up too much because Audi's server in Germany was down. Does this sound odd to have these two parts fail so quickly? Is there a warranty on the replaced coils? Can I get Audi to reimburse me for work done at the local mechanic (since they couldn't tell me what to do)? Any help would be appreciated. |
its always harder to get reimbursed from a dealer when having work done elseware. they can say you dont have proper documentation of the tests performed and blah blah blah. you should have a parts warranty which is most of the time 2 years from a dealer. if it failed the first time, it can fail a second. never underestimate the glory of "new" parts.
