yes. Audi decided not to fix the problem, but instead issue a fact that burning oil at quart per 1000 miles is normal. obviously its NOT. my previous 3 cars burned 0 oil in 5-7k miles......well what you are gonna do......2.0t is still a great little engine :)

I thought New Yorkers use subways.........no oil burning issue there, but definitely some calories burning.

the 2.0's turbo is responsible for the loss in oil, also there have been alot of cracks in th PCV valve which is a common problem for the 2.0 engine cause a leak in boost as well as oil (you know if ur pcv valve is cracked because you will see oil on the engine cover) especially with the oil you that audi recomends is a very thin oil which is easy to burn,

maybe your previous 3 cars weren't turbo charged audi's....alll im sayen is all engines have differences and quirks and the fact the 2.0 drinks more oil then a hummer is something ya gotta deal with haha

I've heard there was a batch of 2.0T's made with bad seals... so there are some that run through oil like crazy.

Funny, the Audi dealer said all the German cars, including Porsches and BMWs burn oil, as if it was something to be proud of, because they are such performance cars it's just something to accept

Thats another BS from Audi. My 2002 BMW M3 didnt burn any oil and its a GT performance car.

Hi Guys I'm driving A4 - 2.0 - 2002 I do faced the problem of minimum oil appearing in the car dash board after 30,000 kilo maters I've contacted Audi dealer here in Saudi Arabia they checked the level of the oil it was not law then they informed me to not to worry about that !!! I've contacted the factory in Germany they do forward the issue to Dubai which is handling the middle east issues but I can't find a solution

I live with the minimum oil light Since I bought my car eight years back but I've to check the level of the oil always in case its decreased I will fill it more

As the dealer says and its written in the card manual book its normal that the oil will decrease after 2000 or 3000 kilo

I would like to share my long experience with minimum oil light

Ok, I'm getting a little tired of some people saying "2.0's Burn Oil", or "synthetic is thin, it burns easily".

Firstly, our engines do not "burn" oil, because synthetic oil cannot be "burned" - at the temperatures our engines are running at. Leakage is another story.

Go and get yourself the revised PCV valve. I was burning 1qt per 1000km, and then now, 9000km later, I haven't burned a drop...

Simple test...

Start engine
Loosen Oil Cap
Can you take the cap off? (don't actually! but tip it and then close it again quickly).

If you cannot take the cap off, there is excess vacumn being applied, generally stating your PCV valve is shot.
