Question New 06 2.0t owner, CEL on and love yall if you can help!

Just picked up a clean 2.0t quattro-
Got her home and am having a couple issues. Cel was on, at first a code for cam sensor slow to respond (0002 i think?) cleared and now a 0011. How many of you have experienced a sensor actually solving this? I read the few posts on this and fixes have varied widely. Anyone have an actual flowchart or way to correctly diagnose this? She has 85k miles. First thing i have planned is timing belt/waterpump service as i dont think it has had it. Also after fueling it for the first time it took 3 tries to actually start. Seems to run fine tho- any help would be greatly appreciated and as a new member- Nice to meet you all and hope I get to have a good time with this ride and get to see some other sweet A4s!

According to Audi, the timing belt doen't need to be changed until 115,000 miles. The manual has a mistake and says 75,000 miles.

Ok, so I assume I tackle the codes first? Any help with this besides drop it off at the shop? Any chance a loose timing belt tensioner is at fault? How many of you have had timing chains/tensioners (or guides fail or wear). I don't mind if it's a sensor or solenoid... Again any sort of flow chart or order of operations here would be greatly appreciated folks

There have been a few people report that one of their car's timing belt pulley's had gone bad, and started making noise, but I don't know of any other problems.

I'd take a look at the EVAP Purge valve. It is on the driver side of the engine. has two hoses and and electrical connection. Take the valve out and see if you can blow through it. If you can, it is bad, and is why you are having a hard start and getting CEL. The part runs about $25.00 from an Audi dealer (one of the few deals)

Reset the code and see what comes up again. Here are the Audi codes Audi Online Technical Library - Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) Tables
This may be the bad hi-pressure fuel pump cam follower that has been a problem in these 2.0L engines. It may just be the follower or you may have a bad sensor or you may have a bad cam. Also check the pix's here VWVortex.com - Audi A4 2.0T Cam Follower Install Pictures
