Default New Tire Recommendations?

I have a 2008 audi a4 2.0 quatro and i was wondering what tires would be good fit for my car. I do live in michigan and are winters are pretty rough and i was hoping to stick with a all season tire. Should i get the oem continental conti pro contact or i was thinking of getting the michelin pilot sport a/s plus. Any recommendations for tires? Also i am getting close to my 35,000 service time and i was wondering if it is worth spending the $500 to have them perform the regularly scheduled maintainance on it or if i should stick with just the oil change? Thanks

2nd Q first: if you choose not to do the 35K mile service, it will probably void any remaining warranty. It's a no brainer: if you have no brain, feel free to ignore this service.

As to tires, I did a bit of research, and the Dunlop SP Sport Signature, available at tirerack.com, were the ones I picked. Great performance at a great price.

You didn't bother to provide your wheel size, but here is a link to the tires for the 18x8 wheels:

Good choice on the tires. Too bad they don't have an OEM fitment for my A4.

I live in west Michigan within the lake effect snow belt, and the new Pirelli 6 four season tires that the dealer put on, because of the car being a CPO, work just fine. I was able to go through the blizzard that hit earlier this winter with no problems. I also cross country ski in areas where the parking areas are not plowed, and the car has not gotten stuck. My Jetta would get stuck quite easily. Those tires even went through the heavy packed snow that the plow dumps at the entrance to the ski area from the road, and at the bottom of my driveway.

The P6 radials on my CPO A4 are horrible in the snow. I have the 18" RS6 wheels. Are you running on 17" wheels?

I am running 17's. My Jetta had the big 16's which is why that light little car got stuck so easy.

i think the best brands are conti, michelin and pirelli. whatever you do, get directional tires. they are just better. check tirerack.com for reviews.
