Newb questions
Hi, I'm new to the forums and new to Audi. I purchased an '07 A4 S-Line last week and so far, I love it. I actually can't wait for winter just so I can test it out in the snow.
Anyway, I plan on a few easy mods first. Getting my windows tinted on Sat. I can't stand clear windows, I feel like I'm in a fishbowl. I do like the S-line rims, but would like to upgrade.
My first question is, what size rims can I fit on the S-line? I know it has upgraded suspension and seems to be slightly lower than the standard A4. Yes I know it has bigger rims standard which makes it look that way, but just curious.
Does putting APR chip in void the warranty or just part of it? Which part of it?
I know what the ESP button does, but do most of you leave it on all the time or just when it's raining or the type of road is less stable?
Thanks in advance. For those of you who are going to reply telling me to use the search button, save it.

at first i thought ESP was enabled by pushing it and the symbol would light up and you knew it was off. but i didn't read my owners manual too much. i did alot of crazy stuff like drive 120 km/h in 1 foot of snow on the highway with the ESP turned off thinking it was actually on. don't push the button because you'll turn it off. it is on by default. just keep it on all the time. it has saved my back end from fishtailing and hitting a curb or car so many times.
tinting is so 1990's. factory tint or MC hammer time, you decide.

I did read in the owners manual that it's automatically on, I guess the fact that when you press the button and it lights up on the dash confused me thinking that turned it on. Thanks for the info.
As for window tint, what's wrong with MC Hammer...don't hate
Just kidding. It's just personal preference. It makes it that much harder to see if some jack *** is looking for something to steal. If I pick my nose, I don't need the whole freeway knowing about it. There are many times in the past when my girl and I were glad if we had tinted windows...

ESP, or what I think is commonly called traction control, is always on. When you're really getting it in a corner or hard acceleration and the ESP activates, the warning light blinks or flashes (car with wavy lines behind it) letting you know you're really getting it, the car is compensating for the loss of traction, and you should continue having fun and appreciate German engineering.
If you press the button, you turn the system OFF and the warning light comes on and stays on -- doesn't blink or flash. In general you should leave this on. As Esandes says, it'll save you from hitting a crub or other car.
Seems like I've heard of legitimate circumstances where you'd want to turn it off, but I can't remember what they are. If you want to slide, drift, or spin the tires under hard acceleration, then turn it off.
Also, if you have Quattro and you want to recreate a F150 commercial or those awesome Quattro Goupe GT rally videos from back in the day, you'd need to turn ESP off so you can slide around in the mud. I used to have a Passat W8, which had 4Motion standard, and that's some fun stuff to do right there.

i say go with the tint
i had 15% on my old car and loved it. now on my CPO audi it has some tint, like 30% or 35%, but its still cool. def. helps with feeling the heat on your face when the sun shines in, and makes it harder for people to look in lol
and to reiterate what everyone else said, just leave the ESP on unless you wanna have fun and know what you're getting yourself into. in the winter i purposely slide thru a turn in a parking lot with ESP ON and could clearly feel the engine cut out as soon as it started to slide. but if you turn it OFF you can do donuts in the snow all day long
and remember, ESP wont fix bein stupid, once the car slides its up to you to keep it under control.
