opinions on leaving phone charger plugged in
i got a phone dock a few months ago and it is great for charging and listening to music (my droid 2 has a car dock app for music, gps, calls etc) i have a basic verizon charger that has a lil light up logo on it and i use it in the plug under the radio/hvac. but my concern is about leaving the charger plugged in for a long time when not driving. sometimes i dont drive for 2-3 days at a time so i unplug it every time i park for the night and this is getting old. does anyone leave their charger plugged in all the time? does it drain the battery? is there an auto-off feature for any of the outlets like with the dome lights?

The cig lighter port which you are using, deactivates when the ignition is off. The port under the armrest stays powered all the time. My brother found out the hard way when he went to charge his phone in the cig lighter, and it was still dead a few hours later when he returned to the car.

Cool, is this a standard feature that won't change between years and option packages? I have a 2008 btw. I guess I try the hard way too, ill leave it in for a few hours and see if the lil light turns off

i checked it about an hour ago and the charger light is still on and when i plugged my phone in it started charging right away
i didnt put the key in or anything, looks like my adapter is always hot. ill leave it in over night and see how it starts in the morning to see if the battery is drained a lil or not. i mean its only a tiny lil light so i cant imagine it draws too much power. one night shouldnt be too bad
