Does anyone know how much play is allowed in a B7's steering. My car has 40,000 miles and seems to have just a bit of play at center. The wheel can jiggle back and forth about a quarter inch with no resistance or change in direction. I thought that cars with power steering were to have absolutely no play in the steering. I have had the car for a few months, and noticed the steering seemed differerent, but I thought that was due to the fact I was driving a different car than I was use to, and had never had a car with variable assist.
