Question About car auto door lock

Hi guys,
new member here!

So i have Audi A4 B7 2008 that auto locks the doors when it hits 20km/h which is great. when the locks are applied, the car can't be opened from the outside. however they could still be opened from the inside even when the car is moving. so i was wondering, is this a glitch with the car? or is this that by design?

to reproduce the issue, i went to a safe open area and asked my wife to open the door while i'm driving, and it opened. i also asked her to try the back doors and they were also opened when the car was moving.

as i have a child, this is very concerning, and i would like to know whether there's a way to enforce the lock to prevent the doors from opening from the inside on the move?

Thank you in advance.

That is normal. In the states if you open the back doors there is a place in the door to engage the child safety lock. That will prevent the doors from being opened from the inside.

hey thanks for your response. i'm aware of the child safety lock but since i have too many people come in and out of the vehicle, I'm trying to find a way to lock the car from the inside without them being opened on the go or find a way to control them from the driver seat. i've seen this in many vehicles where once the driver locks the car from the passenger door, noone is able to open them unless they're unlocked from the driver side. this is a must have security in my opinion.
