Default Random Questions

Just picked up my new 08 Black/Black B7 3.2 Quattro M6 yesterday afternoon. I love it!!!
Is it me or do new Audi's NOT have the typical "new car smell"?

A few questions...
1) If I leave my iPod plugged into the dock while the car is off will it drain the car battery??

2) Is there a link to better instructions (then the manual) on how to use the iPod interface. I did a quick search but didn't find much. My first impression is Audi really didn't do it's homework with the interface. Pretty lame.

Seems easier to use the Aux jack and control the iPod directly.

3) What is the button combo to make all the windows go down using the remote key?

Any other hidden tips/tricks would be appreciated!

The only one I can answer is 3: there isn't a button combo to lower the windows. I think you can reprogram with VAG-COM to get that functionality, though.

1) youyr ipod won't charge if you turn ur car off and leave it in there
2)the ipod interface is a short run off of the cd changer thus

cd 1 - is your first playlist
cd 2 - is your second playlist
so on and so forth

cd 6 - is all of your songs (if you go up to 99 and skip it will go back to track 1.....how you get further is if you let song number 99 play through to the next song then it will be song number 100 but will read as track 1 and the whole process repeats again....however, if you put it on the shuffle it will browse all of your songs

theres a software flash coming out soon to have it work like the a5,6,8 becuase that reads the titles and stuff

hope this helps

I can answer why audi's don't have that new car smell! Its because its not a piece of s***! That new car smell is actually the cheap glue most car companies use to combine the carpet to the floor lining, and other trim componets.
You need a VAG COM to re-code the comfort control module (module 46) to a different value, there is instructions for it on audiworld.

^ agreed about the smell. it's not full of cheap plastic or glue that gives off that typical hydrocarbon smell you get in japanese or american cars.
