Should something be in this hole?

Was looking around for the cause of my fluid leak, and almost had a heart attack when I saw this on the top side of the trans:

What goes in there?

I was going to ask the same question. I saw this in mine yesterday. Sure looks like it is missing a cover.

Must be normal. My 06 2.0 Q has the same empty hole.

This is what I was told:

"That hole is for getting tdc when timing everything. It's a sight hole. There's supposed to be a rubber plug that closes the hole when you're not using it."
