I'm going to go on a limb and say not many people understood your Question. MFSW and random part numbers does not offer much clarity.

How hard can it be.....

Maybe somebody already experienced this with changing there steeringwheel by a Multifuncitioneel Steeringwheel.

Like i told is that the partnumbers for a Slipring are 4E0953541 but the letter on the end tells wich functions it support.

for example:

Normal steeringwheel with only horn and airbag = 4E0953541
Multifunctional steeringwheel with paddles = 4E0953541 A
Multifunctional steeringwheel without paddles = 4E0953541 B

NOW!

I have a Multifunctional wheel mounted but do not have the right slipring and the dealer tells me i need the B version.

My question is if somebody knows if i can also use the A version even with a wheel with no paddles......

That is a better question. I don't think many if anyone has made the swap here. I'm sure this is a more common swap over on the b6 forum. I would think the spacing would be different for the wheel with paddles since the paddles attach to the wheel and chanch the size slightly.

I would say use what you have stock or have onhand first. If it does not work order the right part. That's what I would do.

I did a little looking and I saw that some B6 guys were using the A,B,C and D series. As long as the pins in the plug are the same it should work and be thae same size. Good luck.

Thanks for your awnsers guys,

I agree that the best solution is to use the B version like my dealer told, but i can not find the B version on internet, several A versions are for sale

Go to http://www.genuinevwaudiparts.com, search for "4E0953541B". It's $301.
