I just bought an 07 2.0t and LOVE IT! had a 00 a6 2.7t and loved that but was gettin old so I upgraded but on my a4, the middle cluster could switch modes to have mpg's, how many miles left in the tank, trip time and all different kind of things. But this a4 only seems to have the miles left in the tank, can I change the mode or is that the only option it has?

Also I have an ipod cable coming into the glove box but I plug my ipod at and it doesnt do anything. Do i have to do anything to get it to play?

For the instrument cluster, if your car is appropriately equipped, there will be a rocker switch on the tip of the wiper stalk which will allow you to run through the display options.

 

yeaa man i looked there and it wasn't there...thats where it was on my a6...ill check again but im starting to think i only have miles per tank and nothing else? I really liked the mpg's i was getting right at that second lol, when i gunned it i'd get like 5 and when i coasted i'd get like 115. and is this ipod thing stock? It seems aftermarket but its done very clean that i wouldnt be suprised that its stock

 

If you don't have the little rocker switch on the end of the wiper stalk, you only have the ability to see miles left in the tank. In 2006 Audi decided to make the trip computer part of the expensive technology package. Audi got so much flack about making what was standard equipment in 05 part of an expensive option package from the automotive magazines and reviews, (Consumer Reports for one) that it was made part of the premium package in 07 or 08. If you had a VAGCOM it could possibly be turned on, but without the correct stalk, there is no way to control the settings or modes.

 

i do have a vag-com so i may see what i can do with it...not really sure what i can do with my vag-com yet seeing how im pretty new to it.

Also my cruise control doesn't work, I have the stalk for it and have tried everything to turn it on, my foot isn't on the clutch or anything, it just doesn't seem to respond. And vag-com isn't kicking out any codes...maybe I'll lookin into seeing if i can communicate with it.
