Default streaming audio options?

so i have a 2008 a4 with the basic symphony radio. i have the ipod connector in the glovebox and use a special cable to hookup my android phone and dock but im wondering about a bluetooth hookup. i wanna use my car for phone calls still though.
basically, does anyone use an aftermarket bluetooth dongle for streaming audio?
any recommendations?

thanks

based on the advice from another poster on another thread I purchased the tune2air adapter from ViseeO. It definitely works and streams my iPhone 5 using Bluetooth to my MMI cable in the glove box. I am having some issues with the head unit controls, but the controls on the iPhone itself work fine.

I own a 2013 A4 Quattro 2.0T.

how does that thing hookup for power? battery? i just have the ipod connector built into the glovebox and i dont think that powers/charges the ipod.
does the unit take the phone calls or does it still go thru the cars built in phone?
where did you buy yours? i dont really wanna pay $115 for it.

The cable in your glovebox (at least on 2012/2013 models) does power/charge your iPhone and it also powers this bluetooth adapter.

I am still able to connect on bluetooth to this and also my head unit at the same time. And take phone calls on my head unit surround sound.

I bought mine on Amazon. Audi no longer sells their own adapter part.

Good luck.

i have a 2008 and it does not charge the ipod when hooked up. however, i did find an adapter called the Scosche passport that is supposed to hook up to older docks as a bridge between the dock and ipod and make it charge. so hopefully this will work and then ill get a bluetooth adapter to piggyback on it and viola, streaming audio!

no go
the power adapter worked but not the bt receiver.
the search continues for a receiver that will work with the factory hookup
