TC's reference thread
The Win-take or Twin-take they have is used alot in the GTI community and seems to offer gains. They have a real F'd up stock sytem so I can see where they could squeeze a little power out. Intakes can be loud and combined with the amount of money you drop it can make you want to believe it was worth it. I honestly would save this as one of you final purchases to avoid dissapointment.

The WINtake and TWINtake systems are only suitable for the transverse 2.0T applications.
It is not possible to use it on the longitudinal engine configurations.

After much deliberating/research, I have decided not to install the test pipe, and return the whole package to whence it came. There is no way I would be able to get away with that one (the wife is just too damn smart). Plus I don't want the car to smell so much like an old 73 Dodge Dart or something.
I've also changed my mind on tuning. I am going to go Stage 1+ Unitronic at a local tuner near me. Easier for support with the tuner being close to me, and come highly reccomended. I think I will be doing this sooner than September, as my account has fattened up quicker than I thought (been selling cigars I've been sitting on for a WHILE, well not litterally sitting on them)
I am going to still do the turbo inlet hose, as well as get the RS4 sway bar kit.

UPS picked up the Test Pipe kit to bring back to EuropaParts.com. I just completely changed my mind on that mod.
Ordered the RS4 Rear Sway Bar kit from ECS (free shipping)
Ordered 034 Turbo Inlet pipe from EuropaParts and screws that go with the sway bar kit. Because I ordered the screws, I didn't get free shipping for the inlet pipe, however, I still saved about $50 doing it this way.
Edited to add: Exchanged a few PMs with Hubeert@EuropaParts through Audizine, he is changing the order to include free shipping. Another $12 savings. Sweet.... I can't say enough good things about that place right now.
Yeh, I'm cheap, but $62 is $62.
Called and got pricing for the Unitronic Stage 1+ at DTM Autowerks in Milford NH. This is about a 20 minute drive from my house, and comes highly recommended by the VDUB peeps in NH/MA region. It's going to be $600 for the tune plus 1/2 hour labor ($40). I'm good with that.
Anyone smoke cigars, I got a couple of boxes nicely aged for sale. Need another $100... lol

Yeah, it is, however, when realizing/reading what the car smells like with the test pipe, I knew right away I would get busted for it by the ole lady. That is definately not something I want to happen. However, while talking with DTM, we spoke about doing the rest later with a hi-flow cat/downpipe combo and going up to stage 2 as well, but probably next yearish.
Hi flow cat is fine for stage 2 without any additional expensive piping or DP is all you need. Just tell the old lady the cat needs replaced and you found a deal on an aftermarket brand. The aftermarkets are much cheaper than OEM so it is easily justified. If it still smells at all just blame the part being cheaper and then live with it. Tell her a speed bump crushed the stock one and just jerk the gas around when she drives around with you. I used to do that **** all the time.
Then one day I grew some ***** and just spent money on stuff I wanted to buy. Tell her to shut up and get back in the kitchen! lol
