Default Testpipe Question

I'm thinking of installing a testpipe on an '06 A4 2.0T. My question is, how loud will this make the car? I like the fact that it's fairly quiet and don't wanna ruin it.

Thanks

Its really not very loud, I literally just installed one 2 days ago, it was tough but it was very worth it. There is a noticeable difference but deff not anything like a full exhaust. It really makes it sound good, not loud but deff louder than stock, i could keep rambling on repeating the same thing over and over just in different words, but just do it, its awesome.

Also, will using a test pipe throw a computer code? If so, how can you get rid of it? Will the APR stage 2 tune remove it?

Yes, it should throw a code, and yes, APR stage 2 should eliminate it.

It doesnt always throw a code but the code that is may throw is the one for the rear o2 sensor because normally it should be reading exhaust out of the cat and its obviously not so it thinks that the o2 sensor is bad. What you can do is put a spacer between the o2 sensor and the bung so that it reads less air and thinks its good. That worked for me, and also u can get the stage 2 apr upgrade like eMacPaul said and that just eliminates the rear o2 sensor all together.

if everything else is stock, don't bother. there are no proven gains with a test pipe in a stock audi engine. the stock cat flows better than you've been informed. send me the money instead.

you can buy an ebay test pipe for 60$, its well worth the money in my opinion, now installing it is pretty tough but i enjoy a challenge so i was ok with it. The test pipe does gain a little horsepower but not alot but it does sound pretty good as i stated above.

Just hope you don't live in an area that tests your tailpipe emmissions, you will run into a problem. A dealer may also give grief if you ever want to trade in for something else.

Well the reason why I ask is because that seems to be a requirement for the APR stage 2 tune.
