Touchscreen navigation?

Touchscreen navigation?
I'm looking into buying an '08 A4, and I just had a quick question...
On models with Navigation, is it a touchscreen, or just an LCD screen with a ****/joystick control? In pictures I've seen it looks like there is a **** control next to the screen, and I'm wondering if that is for controlling the screen or something else.
