2009 A4 radar detector problems

I have a Valentine One radar detector. It beeps almost continuously in my new 2009 A4 and I suspect it's hearing the sensors for the lane merge warning and possibly the backup warning. Can these be turned off somehow? My dealer is clueless.

Radar Detector Problem

I just bougt a S5. I have the same problem with a Valetine one detector. I tried switching the lane assistant off bu I still get erroneous detection in the k band. Any ideas?

It's a known issue that detectors pick up on the frequency of the Lane Assist (and whatever other manufacturers call it).

On an especially positive note, I believe that Beltronics has effectively filtered the pop-like profile emanating from K-band based lane departure systems like Audi's side assist. So alerts from such annoying and potentially "hazardous" interfering sources, have been excised from their systems.

google mid-city engineering. they mostly specialize in Mercedes products but they have figured out a way to get the V1 and the K40[piece of crap, have in on my 03 M5 and a friend had it on his 08 5 series and it sucks] to work with Distronic which is Mercedes' Active Cruise Control. not sure if they have an audi solution yet, but im sure if they got enough interest they would look in to it

Thanks, Dave. I bit on the Beltronics and ordered the RX 65. They have some super fancy GPS ones, but they're legal in Minnesota and I just want the basics. I tried it out today and what a difference! I have them side by side. I had one false beep in my 17 mile commute to work today and the V1 was going off constantly! I haven't tested it in a trap, but if there's a problem, I'll post back.

Mike,

thanks for the feedback on the new gear.
Even thought they're illegal in VA, I'm looking to get a stealth install of either the Beltronics STi-R or the Passport 9500ci - I'm leaning strongly towards the Bel...
