I have not been able to figure out how to search by NAME, as opposed to ADDRESS. For example, on other navigation systems I've used, I could type in "HOME DEPOT"----the nav system would then search and show me the nearest Home Depot stores. This list would be continuously updated.

Does the 2011 nav system have this capability?

Hello all, new A4 owner here, 2009 A4 Avant Premium Plus. This would be helpful, as it is, I can't seem to find grocery stores or other general stores. I noticed the section to search for shopping centers, but that literally only searches for shopping centers/malls, not individual stores/shops. Is there a way to find Lowes or Hen House, etc.?

 

you can just search all categories and then type in the name manually, but sadly, the POI are NOT very robustly populated in my experience (2010 a4 Avant)

 

Thanks for the info. I tried a few examples and now understand how it works. Are you aware of any way to supplement the POIs?

 

From what I can gather, having fiddled around with the nav for the past week or so, I'll probably be using my Nuvi most often in the car since it has traffic, poi's, custom poi's and some route editing capability, all of which are missing on the '09 Audi nav. I would love to be able to load customer poi's or something to the built in system, but it doesn't appear to be possible.
