2012 A4 Sport Package
About to purchase an A4, premium plus sedan. Dealer tells me it may take up to a month to get one in with all the features I want and without those I don't. He has one now but it has a Sport package. I'm generally aware that the package includes upgraded seats and 19" wheels vs. 18" but not sure what else it includes. Most important, I only test drove one model without the package and am curious if anyone knows how the different wheels/tires (summer performance vs. all weather 18) will affect how the vehicle drives and handles. Would appreciate any thoughts on this.
Thanks.
Thanks.
I actually picked up my A4 about a month ago. It has the Sport package and S Line Plus package. As far as I know, the Sport package includes three-spoke steering wheel, sport seats and stiffer suspension. If you add the S Line Plus package, you get the alcantara seats, black ceiling trim, black around the windows, black around the grill and the 19" titanium wheels.
Now that winter is here, I've bought a set of 17" Blizzaks to get me through my winter commutes. I'd definitely suggest winter tires if you live in or around a snowy area.

Thanks for your reply, and best of luck on your new car. Wondering about the stiffer ride of the sports package suspension, how it handles rough roads and overall ride comfort. What has your experience been so far?
I came from a Mazda with H&R Sport springs that I installed. The Audi ride is much less harsh than my previous car's ride (which I liked), but it remains sporty, nonetheless. I don't think the Audi's ride could be considered overly harsh. If anything, I'd prefer a stiffer ride.
I just hit the 1000 mile mark on my 2012 A4 p+ w/sport package. What you get is a 3 spoke steering wheel, sport seats with higher seat and side bolsters w/extendable hamstring support, and a stiffer suspension. The suspension is night and day from the regular non sport package. It is firm enough to handle hard turns but still soft enough on the freeway for smooth comfortable drives. For $750 it gives the B&O sound a run for it's money on value (which I also have!). In my opinion the seats are more comfortable but my girlfriend says she prefers the softer seats in my B7 A4. The sport package rides more like the B8 S4 in my opinion. Hope that helps!
chaz,
Here's what I can report so far (2400 miles) about the P+ with the sports package:
First, I can't compare the package seats to the standard seats, since I never had the standard, but its hard to believe these wouldn't be better. They're incredibly comfortable and supportive, and while I initially thought the adjustable thigh support was a gimmick, its a really nice feature (after 10 years with a Passat and now the Audi, I should have learned by now that there aren't too many features on these cars that don't make a lot of sense, and a lot of thought goes into these things). As for the stiffer ride, it all depends what you are used to. Personally, I like the improved handling and stability the sports suspension gives me. The downside is that you probably feel bumps and uneven roads a bit more than you would without the sport suspension. I should also add that all my experience so far has been on 17 inch wheels and Blizzak snows, and I'll be curious to see how the original 18 inch Pirellis change the driving dynamics when I put them on this Spring.
Overall, I remain convinced that there are two options that are quite a good value for the money--the Sport package and the B&O stereo system. And from a general standpoint, this car has exceeded my expectations in just about every area--comfort, fun to drive, gas mileage, you name it. The only disappointment is the minimal storage the car has-- a small center console area and no bins or compartments other than in the doors, but that's a minor complaint. That, and the second cupholder in the front, which is too small to hold a cup. But again, these small problems are way overshadowed by how great every other aspect of this car is.
You won't be disappointed. Good luck to you.

I have a '12 A4 P+ w/ sport package... I commute during the week between Colorado Springs and Denver. The car rides very well on the highway - nice and quiet, and comfortable. She also handles great when I get a little more agressive in the turns. I absolutely love this car... only complaint being the size of the second cupholder in the center console - not big enough for a grande size drink from Starbucks.
^...Thanks for the comments. I cant wait to sell my car this coming Thursday so I can start looking and make a decision fast. I have been looking at seems like a little bit rarer of a color in the Aruba Blue Pearl or a White or Red. I have seen a lot of Silver/Grey/Black and kind of want something a little different. If u find out anything else good, let me kno. Also, wat do u average in gas mileage city/highway are the stickers right in the I think it was 21/22 City and 27/28 Highway?
