Default 2013 A4 Front License Plate Holder

Picked up my new A4 last night at the dealer, it was shipped to PA from NJ. NJ requires two license plates, PA does not.

The big black plastic license plate holder looks ridiculous on the front of the car. Some google-fu indicates this is a common complaint and that there are bumper plugs out there that can be used to fill them in.

Couple questions before I go this route - what do you think would be reaction from dealer if I asked them to remove and fill the holes for free? Do they even have OEM plugs or are these damned things just drilled in custom for where needed?

I'm not interested in making any serious mods to the vehicle, nor would I think it is worth it to pay for a new grill or anything. Has anyone had any success with a 2013 DIY or other plugs? I will post a pic in here later today. Thanks.

I believe they have plugs but i do not believe they would do it for free! goodluck though..worst case take it off yourself and go to body shop should be under $100 but i am not sure if they are specific drill holes from OEM specifications on the 2013

Dealer gave me plugs I could put in myself, but the screw holes are a bit too small and some excess plastic needs to be shaved off. They are going to do it later for free. Along with take a look at the distortion/waves in a part of my windshield. Oh, and put my state inspection stickers on. oiy.

Try taking it to a body shop and get a price to fill and paint that section of the grill. It's trim paint and a pretty easy process. That way it will look clean.

Bumperplugs.com is another way to go, so long as the holes aren't too big. These guys even have them painted ready to go.
