basic performance chip
What is the best basic chip for a 2009 a4 2.0t? I have seen plug and play chips for $69. I am not looking to get the programmer that costs $500+ but will if I have to or if it is really recommended. The car has a certfified warranty and I do not want to do anything that will void the waranty. Any ideas? Thanks
If you want a good tune your gonna wanna spend more then $70. What I did in your position was go to all the websites and look at the dynosgraphs. I looked at power and how spiky the power delivery was. And after that I looked to see how each was put onto the car. After seeing how smooth the apr tune was made it very driveable. Other tunes looked like someone took a bite out of it or it was doing the wave. Then I looked and saw that some tuners require you send your ecu in to have it reflashed, which I wasn't trying to do. And others you need to have a programer to turn it on and off which is big money for a hassle. Apr I found was the way to go. It had the most favorable power figures, and you don't have to send in your ecu. Nothing gets put on or removed, all that happens is they reflash the stock ecu. And with the apr tune you can go back and forth between stock and the performance program by using the cruise control. You can also lock out the program which makes it 100% invisible. I have taken my A4 in many times with the program off and they haven't noticed a thing. Also with apr it's not just a simple tune you by and thats it, one size fits all like other tuners. Apr has different tunes as you upgrade more parts to make mods work together. And best of all is you pay once and when ever you get a new mod they reflash it for free. If you have any questions let me know.
