Default DVD Viewing While in 'D'

Does anyone know how to enable DVD viewing while in drive mode? It is not for me while I am driving but rather for my passengers.

Thank you and I will give this a try. I have an Audi tech that should be able to help me out as well.

Do you have a VAG tool? If so it's pretty straight forward. If I can do it, anybody can

good luck!

I took my A4 to my technician friend and he hooked it up to his computer and made the changes. Works great and thank you for the post!!! Now my passengers will be happy on longer travels.

How are you able to view a DVD in your A4 with the stock MMIor am I missing something?

well you have a 3.2 - so hard to say if the settings will be the same. But you need to look at the 2nd thread & go to that website & study it. Also di you have the VAG tool...? You will need this to have VIM - video in motion

I'll do some more research, thanks. We are talking about the stock CD changer in the dash though right? I'm just surprised that it reads DVD formatted discs.

I'm familiar with ECU flashing from when I had my Evo so I'm guessing it's something along similar lines.

The VAG tool you can change settings within the car, run diagnostics, run logs, etc. it's software that interacts with your car - and can allow you to watch video while driving - or your passengers anyway

http://www.ross-tech.com/

Flashing your ecu is something entirely different. Your car is naturally aspirated - so that too would not work for you, but the VAG would if you had the software & tool to plug into OBD

and yes - stock CD/DVD

Thanks.

I was just indicating I'm familiar with modifying hex tables and making changes. I just found the ross-tech site last night and already considering buying one of their cables with the software. Lot of neat changes you can configure in the MMI that are hidden.

I'm not really looking to do much tuning. I have a 100k warranty with only 16k on the car :P I got all the tuning out of my blood with the Evo.

So, just to confirm again, we're talking about the 6 disc changer in the dash on an '09 A4? How do I tell which version of MMI I have. I just can't believe they'd put 6 disc dvd reader in the car and just disable everything.
