Default Engine is Toast after 117k

I'm told by Audi mechanic that the engine in my 2009 A4 with 117k miles is not repairable. A exhaust valve "broke", hit the piston causing internal engine damage. I bought the car as a CPO @1.3 years ago. The high mileage is due to a 130+ mile round trip commute to work everyday.

In searching the internet i can't find this happening with another B8, perhaps due to the others not having the "high" mileage mine does yet. Does anyone know why this would happen?
- The timing chain tensioner was replaced before i got the car due to a recall.
- The rings were replaced 8 months (40k miles) ago due to high oil consumption (@1 qt a week)
- recommended oil used & changed @ every 15k.

I asked Audi to see if they can find a used engine since a new one is 11k & no way that's happening.

I guess the question would be whether the problem started with the timing chain tensior which if it loosens would jump a tooth and then cause the valve to hit the piston. The other failure could be the valve breaking and hitting the piston. Do you know if it was one valve or was it a few valves.

Default

it was 1 valve not caused by the tensioner. The Audi shop finally got back to me and the best they can do is a new head / piston / valves for $6800. I've been driving a loaner car so i'm sorry it didn't take 4 years to get back to me.

I don't know what to do with this car. I know what i'd like to do.
