K & N air filter for 09' A4 2.0T

For any of you who are looking into a K&N air filter for the 09' 2.0T, I have some info that may or may not already be on this site and I'll be damned if I'm gonna go searching through everything. I was speaking to the "Audi guy" at this performance shop called Goodspeed in Tempe, AZ and he was telling me that if you go with the K&N air filter then you have to wash the filter off, and of course let it dry, before putting it in the car or the excess oil from the factory might get sucked through and foul up you mass air flow sensor.

Last I checked, K&N didn't make a filter for the B8. I checked on the K&N site as recently as Thursday or Friday. Did I miss something?

Oh wait, maybe it was CAI I was thinking of... UGH! I can't remember, I can't wait for their to be more aftermarket mods available!!!

Yea I checked the K&N site too and nothing came up for the B8 so I called them and they said that it was part # 33-2945.

guys, don't even bother with the K&N. there's no HP gain over the stock air filter so why risk messing up the sensor in the 1st place.

Has anyone purchased the K&N filter and noticed any improvements (or decreases) in HP (subjective really.. I know), or Throttle response?

I just got my B8 A4 2.0T last week and was thinking about getting one... had one on my previous two rides (99 Golf III 2.0 8V & 2003 Jetta GLI 2.8L 24V VR6) and noticed big improvements in both. I actually had VAG-COM running on both cars before and after and notice between 15-25% more air coming in. Made for very noticeable throttle response, but mind you on a N/A engine. Not sure how much I'll notice on a forced induction.

Thoughts guys???

impossible to mess up sensor with this, it is just a replacement of the factory filter element only not a different intake. This installs inside the stock air box so there is no risk to the MAF sensor (unless it is wet when you install it). The K&N filters have proven to breath better then most stock filters on cars and bikes. I don't really know if you gain a lot or any HP with this replacement filter element but can't hurt anything.....if you follow the cleaning procedures and directions.

There is no question you get gains from a K&N....you just have to wash out the excess oil and everything should be fine. Classic larry david pic though.
