Launching?
I have a 2010 B8 A4 quattro 6 MT and want to know what your thoughts are on dropping the clutch for a quick launch. I've been scared to do it because I don't want to tear my car up very bad. I just would like to know that if I'm ever going to race someone I can do it and get a good launch. my car has the K04, cat back exhaust, down pipe, and a FMIC.
I've got the same car. I don't drop the clutch straight up, never really a good idea.
If I hear the car next to me revving, I watch the opposing traffic's lights for the yellow to come (signals about the 3-4 second count down to green) release the clutch very slowly until I find the point just before "bite", wait for the green and then very quickly, but progressively release the clutch and matt the throttle. Haven't lost a "race" yet. It's great when the turbo spools in around 2700rpm and then zooomj

I dropped the clutch once, at 4K rpm, when test-driving my current S4 (B7) just to make sure the clutch didn't slip... what a rush!
I haven't done it since
But the brief squeal of the tires from the V8 through the quattro driveline... heaven. Maybe you should try it once, I'm sure the clutch will hold even with your upgrades.
