Default Mitsu Evo to A4?

I am currently driving a 2006 Mitsubishi Evo and have had fun with the car for a few years, but I've been thinking about upgrading to something a bit more business-like yet still exciting to drive. I'm wondering, after driving an Evo for a while, if I will find the A4 to be lackluster, or if there are mods to be done to give it a bit more "umph".

I test drove a new model A4 and it was really nice but obviously missing the adrenaline rush of an Evo. How tunable is an A4?

I've also considered the S4, but the price difference between that and the A4 is so vast that it gives me pause. This will be a daily driver for me and not something I will take to the track. Just want to have a bit of fun with it during normal driving. Any comments or guidance would be most appreciated.

Thanks.

the 2.0T version is just as tuneable as the Evo. there just aren't many mods out yet because it's such a new engine. the only turbo kit available is the k04 kit made by APR. it'll put the car very close to a stock B8 S4 power level. if you're looking for fun like the Evo and still have a business like persona, be ready to pay. or just get an older A4 and mod the crap out of it. the 1.8T powered A4s have lots of mods and turbo kits available

Thank you for your response. That gives me a lot to go on. I assume more aftermarket performance parts will be out in time. Now I guess I need to decide whether I want a six-speed manual or go with the titanium package with paddle shifters...

Get an S4 not an A4 if you want comparable power. You will never go back to an evo after the new S4.

6 speed manual. i have paddle shifters and never use them. also, they're attached to the steering wheel so they're pretty much useless unless on the highway.
