Default Thinking baout getting 2009 A4

I'm in the market for a new car since mine is on the verge of dying. After a few weeks of research I've narrowed it down to either the A4 or the Lexus IS 250 AWD. I know the Lexus is smaller, slower, more girly, etc, but there's no other cars that catch my eye. Anyways, I was wondering if anyone can suggest which packages to look for and such and any major problems with the A4 i should know about? I'm looking to spend no more than 35 grand if that helps. Oh, also i have a Zune MP3 player, do you guys know if i can hook that up to the stereo in the A4? I know it comes with an Ipod plug.

Thanks,

Paul

The 2009s are a major, major redesign so there are no "known" issues at this time. Audi did put a lot of effort in to improving the reliabiltiy so we will see how that works out... As far as options, I would definitely recommend the sport package as the base cars sit way to high and have a very large wheel/body gap. Not sure about the Zune connection but you should be able to check that out during a test drive.
BTW- I was looking at the IS 250 and got a much, much better deal for an 09 Audi that I could have gotten for an 08 IS...food for thought.

I was also debating between these two vehicles. FWIW, The breaking points for me were:

The Lexus always came out significantly more expensive
The Lexus didn't have a turbo option
Audi's Quattro appeared to be a better AWD system than the Lexus
The A4 seemed to be much more fun to drive

Default best price

Any idea what the best price would be from a reputable dealer? I'm looking for a fairly stripped down model, just ipod connection and heated seats. Thanks for help.

Mine listed for $33,900 and I got it for $29,900. It is about as basic as they come but really has everything that I need.

Talking Going to order a 2009 A4 2.0T with the s-line package tommorrow!

I have been looking around for a new car, the decision really came down to a 2009 A4 2.oT with the S-line package or the BMW335xi coupe. I have never owned an Audi before so i was a little skeptical, My last car was a BMW 330i. I drove the Audi today after traveling out of state to find it with the s line package. I have to report that it was very fun to drive( i did not baby it either( I think my wife and the salesperson would agree). My findings: BMW 335= much quicker and handling very good. Audi= very good handling but much nicer interior and more "bells and whistles" (ipod interface, backup camera alacantra seats etc. I think i am going to order the audi due to its aggressive looks(with s-line) interior and the ability to drive in almost any weather(i live in NY). the BMW as i have learned the hard way is useless in the snow unless you forego the sports package. Also it seems lke there is a bmw at every light nowadays.whereas the audi is not as common. both are pricing at 650.00 a month lease with tax and title up front. good luck with your searching. If you have any questions ...feel free to ask. heres a pic. sorry about the quality it is from my camera phone. (by the way, i will be ordering the brillaint black with the black s-line interior and a 6 speed)

The S-Line Package looks nice on the A4, especially if it is in Brilliant Black. Does the S-Line Package have the option to choose between 18" or 19" wheels?

hey clam chowder. As far as I know, with the s-line package the rims you get are the 19's I dont believe there are any other options. Its the same with interior, there are no color choices just that black alacantra seats. which is like a suede in the center as well as on the doors and roof liner. the s-line definately looks sweet. I was not too crazy about the reg b8 but with this package i really like it. I am heading in tommorrow morning to order the car, i cant decide wether to order with the 6 speed manual or the automatic? what do you think?

I guess it's too late, but I would have gone with the 6 speed manual. Been driving manual for three years now, and can't seem to go back to driving an auto. So I can't wait to see how the 6 speed on the A4 turns out .
