Default Wierd Vibration

I think my wheels are out of balance. I have 400 miles on the car and it vibrates every so slightly between 60 and 75 mph. Below and above those speeds the steering wheel is rock solid. My guess is that a wheel or wheels is out of balance. Anyone else experience this?

Have you checked to make sure there's no mud dried on the inside of the rim?
Happened to me once.

It is hard to say what the problem is but wheel balance is the usual suspect. Since you are not feeling anything in the wheel, it may be one of the rears. Of course it could always be something in the drivetrain but hopefully just a wheel balance issue.

was that covered under warranty or did you have to pay the dealership for the rebalance?

Most new cars have a 12 month/12K "adjustment" warranty. You can usually get balances, brakes, alignments, etc. during the period.

Just talked to the dealer and the car goes in tomorrow. Seems Audi issued a TSB on 2009 Audi A4's with a shimmy at highway speeds due to a problem with several batches of Pirelli tires installed on our A4's. If it can't be corrected, Audi will provide 4 new tires free of charge.

Anyone else with this problem? I just had mine rebalanced but the steering wheel still vibrates at highway speeds (60-65mpg).
