Wierd Vibration
Just got back from the dealership with the car after leaving it for 2 days, haven't test the car out yet, but I'll post the technician notes.
-----
Client states vibration from steering wheel at low speed or stationary when turned
Audi knows about vibration when backing up. Audi is working on a fix
-----
Vibration in steering wheel above 65mph.
Test drive car. Tires need balance.
Road force all 4 tires as fpr TSB.
(not sure what fpr is, think they meant per)

i have an 09 a4 premium+ that had the same vibration problems with high speed and have my control arms replaced. as far as i could tell, the difference is night and day although i have to observe it for couple more miles to conclude that it really did resolve the vibration problem. but as for now, my b8 runs as smooth as it could be as if it were floating, road noise is negative and only quite a bit of wind noise.
I seem to have all the problems listed and a few more - the jerking (confused transmission issue), car vibration between 60mph and 75mph, vibration in the steering wheel while reversing the car, mp3 player not reading all files on CD and brake pads that seem to be wearing down a lot (lot of black powder on the wheels). I have had the car for about 2 months now.
I just emailed the dealer today and am waiting for his reply.

. I have to wash the wheels quite a lot then. I am hoping it will go down.
Still having the same problem. Taken the 6 month old B8 to the dealer 2 times now. the dealer has balanced my tires and said that they've documented my problem but that nothing can be done until audi provides instructions with the necessary fix.
This really sucks!

i'll eat my foot and take back i posted earlier in this thread that the difference is night and day and as if it were floating. well lo and behold, i drove from az to san diego and this vehicle is as uncomfortable as any other ordinary sedan. it does not shield you from road imperfections, wind noise is intrusive. though my average speed at the time was between 90-105. i guess i was just expecting too much in this "mid-size luxury sedan"
does any of you have this kind of experience? i wish they could program our non-ads vehicle to have the suspension in comfort mode. but then again, expecting too much.

If your issue is the very low speed intermittent shudder, they're right. No fix - yet. Balancing would have zero to do with this issue.
My car's at the dealer now. Keeping my fingers crossed. the initial talk with them when I dropped it off felt reasonable, though they called me back to help them reproduce the issues. I could only show them the high speed vibration. Other issues vibrations at slow speeds while turning, transmission jerking, getting stuck in D2 sometimes, my b&o's sound turning off in the rear etc - were sporadic and I couldn't reproduce them at the dealership at that point.
They assured me that they have noted it all down and are going to keep checking. They have also acknowledged that there are issues in the 2009 model. Hoping all will be fixed
. So far a very nice friendly experience.

Just got the lower control arms replaced by the dealer shop yesterday. The shimmy at 60-65 mph is now completely gone. Now my 09 A4 drives so smoothly it's like driving on butter. The parts took about a month to arrive and only 1 day to replace. I'm a happy Audi driver once again
