First Impressions
 

Hi All,
Just got my 2018 A4. Here are some of my first impressions:
Likes: great engine, smooth, broad power band. Similar for transmission and of course Quattro is still as awesome as ever. The non-sport suspension ride is firm but not harsh, which is important where I live as the roads are really bad. Handling is like on rails.
Neutral: I'm still on the fence about the glass "tech" dash. I have an iphone so use Apple maps through the CarPlay via the center screen. I will have to play with the modes more and see what I like as the default screen. Seats are firm but comfortable, but might have wanted more side support. Perhaps the sport seats would be a better option.
Dislikes: Two things immediately jumped out. First, the driver side door armrest is too far outward to actually rest your arm on without leaning over. This should be the same distance as the center console so both arms can rest. I'm already thinking of some way to extend the side armrest inward. Second, the brake pedal is large and close to the gas, so my shoe often catches under it when lifting off the gas.

How about you other new owners. What are your thoughts?

How annoying is the automatic shutoff and re-start and can it be overridden? I have been considering a 2018 MT6 and don't want to dick around with the damn thing shutting off at lights on hills. I also don't care for the extra load on the battery and starting system.

Love the car got my 2017 A4 in June. My only gripe is the Apple Car play is dumped when I put car in reverse, I sometimes have to unplug phone and replug to get the Infotainment system to recognize the Apple Play.
